August 20th, 2015 Letter of Introduction

To Corvallis Community Members and Businesses,

The Corvallis Police Department is happy to introduce the Community Livability Officer Program. This team of police officers is the result of a voter approved tax levy authorizing the funding for three additional police officers, supplies and equipment, focusing on community livability.

Community Livability Officers will focus on addressing neighborhood and community concerns regarding chronic criminal behaviors negatively impacting the Corvallis Community. These uniformed patrol officers will work in collaboration with other units within the police department, community groups, and Oregon State University to provide a safe and secure environment for all community members.

Our team will be responsible for providing crime prevention, education, and enforcement functions within the community, and addressing chronic or repeat criminal behaviors negatively impacting community livability. Our team will undertake these responsibilities by partnering with community groups to accomplish a variety of programs and projects. In addition, our team will conduct foot and bicycle patrols on a regular basis. Calls for service needing police response for enforcement or investigation will continue to be handled through our emergency and non-emergency dispatch.

If your neighborhood or business is experiencing repeated or chronic negative behaviors, the Community Livability Officers may be able to work with you towards productive solutions. We would be happy to meet with your community group, business, or business association to introduce ourselves and provide more information. Our contact information is below.

Sincerely,

Officer Trevor Anderson, Badge #827

Officer James Dodge, Badge #852

Officer Luke Thomas, Badge #858
